Jason is a 3rd generation attorney in Nebraska. His grandfather, Joseph A. Troia, primarily practiced probate law until his passing in 1987. Jason’s father retired from the District Court Bench after serving nearly 40 years as a judge. Other family members, including his Uncle Anthony Troia, have practiced law as well. Jason graduated from Creighton University Law School in 1999. He immediately joined the law firm of Gallup & Schaefer where he learned under some of the best criminal defense attorneys in Nebraska. After nearly a decade he formed Dornan, Lustgarten & Troia with Stuart Dornan and Christine Lustgarten. On January 1, 2025, he reorganized his practice by resigning as partner and becoming a solo practitioner. Jason continues to focus his practice on criminal defense and civil foreiture. There are other areas of practice that he can assist with. Recently he has filed for guardianship of his son who has Down syndrome. He desires to help other families that care for those with special needs. He stays busy as one of the founding members of the Elkhorn Top Dogs, a special olympics delegation which has grown to over 50 athletes, unified partners, coaches and volunteers in just under two years.
